
If have not heard about this dish, it is derived from Chinese cuisine and been adapted into some countries including my country, Indonesia. So basically it is like omelette but we put some additional ingredients in it. Without further ado, this is how I made my own egg foo yoong.
Ingredients :
- 2 eggs
- Spring onion, finely chopped
- 1 carrot, grated
- Corned beef or can be replaced with shredded chicken or shrimp
- red onion
- Salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp plain flour
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
Sauce :
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp chilli sauce, you may not use it if you don’t want to
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp of sugar
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 250ml water
- 2 tbsp cornstarch, dissolve into water

1. Mix all the first list of ingredients into bowl until all comes together

2. Prepare the pan and set into medium heat, put the egg foo yoong into the pan, make it rounded evenly

3. Cook the omelette until golden brown, then flip it to cook the other side, the omelette will not mesh up if you put enough flour and cook until golden brown

4. A tip for you if you afraid to mesh up the omelette while flipping it, just take your other pan, put the omelette into the second pan, then flip it into the first pan
5. After it cooked well, put aside the omelette on paper towel, so it will not so oily.
6. To make the sauce, put some oil into medium heat pan, put the onion, then cook until it smells good

7. Then put the water, followed by the sauce both tomato and chilli, also the sugar and salt. Give it taste, it should taste sweet and sour, then after that you can put in the cornstarch

This recipe is for 3 to 4 servings. You can modified by adding another meat or replaced it with your favorite meat.
